Coatee, dress, 73rd Regiment of Foot, 1815 (c)

The 73rd's uniform consisted of the traditional red coat with light yellow facings (cuffs, collar and lapels). Regiments had different colour facings on their red coats to help commanders to distinguish them through the smoke of battle.

In 1815 the 73rd fought at Quatre Bras and Waterloo, where it repelled 11 French cavalry charges.
