A Rifleman of the 7th Gurkha Rifles in field service marching order, 1938

Superb fighting soldiers, the 7th Gurkha Rifles fought in North Africa, Italy and Burma during World War Two. After Indian independence in 1947 and the demise of the Indian Army, the regiment was transferred to British service where it again served with distinction during the Malayan Emergency.
