10th (Duke of Cambridge's Own) Bengal Lancers at Sialkot, 1882 (c)

This regiment, like the 9th Bengal Lancers, was part of the Irregular Cavalry Corps raised by Lieutenant William Hodson during the Indian Mutiny (1857-1859). They later fought in the 2nd Afghan War (1878-1880), and the regiment was at Sialkot in the Punjab from 1880 until 1883.

From an album of 62 photographs, a regimental album associated with the 10th Duke of Cambridge's Own Bengal Laners (Hodson's Horse) 1907-1923.
