'The Light Horse Volunteers of London & Westminster, Commanded by Col Herries, Reviewed by His Majesty on Wimbledon Common, 5th July 1798'

Coloured aquatint by and after Thomas Rowlandson (1757-1827), published by Henry Angelo, 1798.

Carriages provide viewing platforms for a civilian crowd watching a review of the London and Westminster Light Horse Volunteers by King George III on Wimbledon Common. In the foreground a horseman argues with a large lady holding a parasol while another man sells refreshments to the spectators.
