Regimental Colour of the 1st Battalion, The Royal Dublin Fusiliers, 1907 (c)

The regiment was created on 1 July 1881 via the amalgamation of the 102nd Regiment of Foot (Royal Madras Fusiliers) and the 103rd Regiment of Foot (Royal Bombay Fusiliers) which became the 1st and 2nd Battalions respectively. The regiment recruited from the counties of Dublin and Kildare, but following the establishment of the Irish Free State in 1922 it was disbanded.
