Four soldiers of 125th Napier's Rifles, taking up a position behind a sandy ridge with the subadar major (pointing) giving orders to fire. They wear rifle green tunics with red facings and are armed with Lee Enfield Rifles.
This is the original artwork for an illustration in Major G F MacMunn's 'Armies of India', published in 1911.
