'Subadar-Major, 20th Brownlow's Punjabis Kambar Khel (Afridi)', 1910 (c)
Pen and ink drawing by Alfred Crowdy Lovett (1862-1919), 1910 (c).
The regiment was raised in 1857 by Lieutenant Charles Henry Brownlow to serve during the Indian Mutiny (1857-1859). The unit first served overseas during the 2nd China War (1856-1860).
The original for the illustration on p151 of G F MacMunn's 'Armies of India', published in 1911.
