Shabraque, 14th (or Duchess of York's Own) Light Dragoons, 1835 (c)

Blue cloth lined with moleskin bearing regimental and royal insignia.

Shabraques are decorative saddlecloths associated with the hussar cavalry style adopted by European armies in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries from Hungarian cavalry in Austrian service.
