Regimental Colour, 4th (Militia) Battalion The Prince of Wales's Leinster Regiment (Royal Canadians), 1884-1922
In British infantry units the Regimental Colour was a flag of a single colour, usually the colour of the uniform facings (collar, lapels and cuffs) of the regiment, often trimmed and with the insignia in the centre. The Leinster Regiment recruited from five Irish counties, all of which became part of the Irish Free State in 1922. The regiment was therefore disbanded in that year.
