Replica Burma Medal 1824-26
Following the British victory in the First Burma War (1824-1826), the East India Company awarded the Burma Medal to Indian soldiers who served in the campaign. The European soldiers involved - including Company officers and members of the British Army - were not eligible for this. But surviving European soldiers later qualified for the Army of India Medal with the clasp 'Ava', established in 1851.
