Pugri, 11th King Edward's Own Lancers (Probyn's Horse), 1913 (c)
A pugri is a type of turban. This example is dark blue with gold striping and was designed to be wound around a red and gold embroidered kullah (a type of skull cap). It belongs to a dress uniform worn by Major J A C May-Somerville of the 11th King Edward's Own Lancers (Probyn's Horse). The dress uniform of this regiment was one of the most extravagant in the Indian Army.
