Diary for 4 May to September 1915 kept by Lieutenant-Colonel Henry Jourdain, 5th Battalion The Connaught Rangers

Jourdain's diary begins with his battalion moving from Ireland to England in May 1915. It then concentrated in the Basingstoke area with 29th Brigade and in July embarked at Plymouth for Malta. The 5th Battalion subsequently landed at Gallipoli on 5 August 1915. It remained in the Dardanelles until the end of September when it was withdrawn prior to transfer to the Macedonian front.
