Skinner's Horse were one of the most famous cavalry units in the Indian Army. In 1939-1940 the regiment was mechanised and issued with armoured cars and light tanks before becoming part of the Indian Armoured Corps. Skinner's Horse went on to serve in Abyssinia (1940-1941) and Italy (1943-1945).
