Subedar Major Daulat Singh, 1st Battalion, 2nd Punjab Regiment, 1945

A subedar-major wore the crown of a full major and was the senior rank of Viceroy's Commissioned Officer in the British Indian Army. They fulfilled a role similar to that of Warrant Officers in the British Army.
