Field service forage cap, side hat, standard type, Indian Medical Service, 1943-1946

Side hat made by Ranken and Company, with dark blue crown, curtain and peak and gold braid piping. Gilt Indian Medical Service buttons with crown over star, title on circle, 'GRI' cypher in centre. Badge of embroidered lion over King's crown.

The medical services of the Madras, Bombay and Bengal Presidencies were amalgamated in 1858.
