Mounted Trumpeter, 34th Prince Albert Victor's Own Poona Horse, 1908

Watercolour by Major Alfred Crowdy Lovett (1862-1919), 1908 (c).

Recruited from Rathore Rajputs (two squadrons), Kaimkhanis (one squadron) and Punjabi Musalmans (Muslims) (one squadron), the 34th were stationed at Aurangabad in July 1908.

This is the original artwork for an illustration in Major G F MacMunn's 'Armies of India', published in 1911.
