Officer's grenadier cap, 1708 (c)
This militia cap is associated with the Honourable Artillery Company of London, the oldest regiment in the British Army which traces its origins back to 1537. The metal and silk thread, embroidered on velvet, depicts a crown, crest, portcullis and the royal cypher of Queen Anne in front, and a grenade at the back.
