Brigadier Claude Auchinleck with fellow officers, 1935

Auchinleck (right) commanded the Peshawar Brigade during the campaign, which had been launched as a punitive expedition against tribesmen who were raiding the plains and disrupting working parties repairing the Mohinand-Gandab Road.
