Royal Military College Colour Party, 1908

Photograph, Sandhurst, 1908.

Cadet Walter Bagot-Chester stands third from left. After attending Sandhurst, he was commissioned into the Indian Army with the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Queen Alexandra's Own Gurkha Rifles in September 1908. He served in India until October 1914 when his unit was despatched to Europe with 20th (Garhwal) Brigade. He was later killed in action in Palestine in March 1918.
