Horse-racing shirt, 1912 (c)
This satin shirt was worn as the regimental jockey silk by Lieutenant A H Brooke of the 18th King George's Own Lancers during the 1912 season. Throughout its history the Army has organised race meetings. These have helped develop soldiers' horsemanship as well as providing entertainment for the military and public alongside letting soldiers mix with society.
