Medal commemorating the Battle of Inkerman, 5 November 1854
This medal, made of bronze, is one of a set of three which were struck in either bronze, silver or white metal by the firm of John Pinches Ltd. They were usually sold with two other similar medals, commemorating the Battles of Alma and Balaklava during the Crimean War (1854-1856).
The obverse depicts British and Russian soldiers in close combat, with the word 'INKERMANN' above. The reverse carries the names of the participating regiments and corps arranged by divisions in the form of a rose.
