Staff Officer's sword used by Surgeon General James Cleghorn, Indian Medical Service, 1895 (c)
The beautiful swords carried by the Mamelukes influenced British sword fashion. This style of sword, the Duke of Wellington's favourite, became the official dress sword for generals and staff officers and is still used today.
