Officer's coat worn by Colonel John Baker Holroyde, 1st Earl of Sheffield, 21st Light Dragoons (Royal Forresters), 1762 (c)

Light dragoons sought out the enemy and fought small battles. Other dragoons had a heavy role, crashing through the enemy using weight and power. The 21st were raised in April 1760 and disbanded at Nottingham in 1763.
