Officer's short-tailed coatee, 8th (King's Royal Irish) Light Dragoons, 1815 (c)
This pattern was introduced, although not immediately adopted, in 1812, the intention being to copy the uniform worn by Polish lancers. The new style coatees were not popular with the Dragoons who reportedly felt the troops had become completely 'denationalised in appearance'.
