Shako, 51st (2nd Yorkshire West Riding) or the King's Own Light Infantry Regiment, 1869-1878
Introduced in 1869, this was the last type of shako introduced to the Army. It was lower in height than earlier patterns. The light infantry version was made of dark green cloth with a horsehair plume.
