Other ranks' glengarry badge, 30th (Cambridgeshire) Regiment of Foot, 1874 (c)
The badge of this regiment consists of three 'Xs' (Roman numerals for 30) surrounded by a title ribbon inscribed with the motto 'Spectemur Agendo' (meaning 'Let Us Be Judged By Our Deeds'). These are flanked by laurel leaves and surmouted with a Sphinx, an emblem granted to the 30th Foot following their service in Egypt in 1801.
