Glengarry badge, other ranks, 64th (2nd Staffordshire) Regiment of Foot, 1874 (c)
Brass badge with the regimental number, '64', surmounted by a rope knot, within a garter bearing the unit title '2nd Staffordshire', surmounted by a crown.
Raised as an independent unit in 1758, the 64th's nickname was 'the Black Knots' after its uniform's black facings (collar, lapels and cuffs) and Staffordshire's county symbol of a knot.
