Glengarry badge, other ranks', 75th (Stirlingshire) Regiment of Foot, 1874-1881
This regiment was formed in 1787 and recruited in Stirlingshire. It served in several British Army campaigns until the 1881 Childers Reforms, when it was merged into The Gordon Highlanders.
Its badge consists of the numeral 75 surrounded by a wreath of thistles (the emblem of Scotland) and surmounted by a Bengal tiger, awarded for its long service in India in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
