'The Battle of Ballinamuck, 1798'

The Battle of Ballinamuck was fought on 8 September 1798. It saw the defeat of combined force of French regulars and Irish rebels, commanded by General Jean Humbart at the hands of a much larger British force commanded by Lord Cornwallis. This defeat brought an end to the Irish Rebellion of 1798.
