Cap badge, other ranks, Cheshire Regiment, 1914 (c)
The badge of this regiment includes an eight-pointed star around a band inscribed with the unit title. Within the latter there is an acorn between oak-leaves. It is believed that the acorn and oak-leaves were granted by King George III following the service of a detachment of the regiment at Dettingen in 1743.
