Other ranks' cap badge, The East Surrey Regiment, 1914 (c)
This badge consists of an eight-pointed rayed and faceted star, the topmost point of which is mounted by a monarchial crown. At the centre is a shield bearing the Arms of Guilford. These are formed of a castle with three towers embattled between two woolpacks in fesse. At the base is a lion passant. Below the star a frosted scroll bears the burnished unit title.
