Pair of stirrups presented to HRH the Duke of Cambridge by the Turkish Sultan, 1856 (c)

These stirrups were presented to General George William Frederick Charles, 2nd Duke of Cambridge, by Abdul Mejid, Sultan of Turkey, following the Crimean War (1854-1856) to express his appreciation of the Duke's services. The Sultan presented these along with a saddle and pair of saddle holsters.
