Sunglasses owned by Captain Charles Fordyce, 2nd Battalion The Seaforth Highlanders (Ross-Shire Buffs, The Duke of Albany's), 1914 (c)

Captain Charles Elphinstone Fordyce (1897-1980) was educated at Shrewsbury School and the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst. He was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the 2nd Seaforth Highlanders in August 1916, being promoted to lieutenant in February 1918 and captain in November 1927. He served as adjutant in 1928 and went onto the Reserve list in 1931 after serving on the North West Frontier of India. Fordyce received service medals for World War One (1914-1918).
