Cap badge of the Household Cavalry, 1919 (c)

The Household Cavalry is a corps of two regiments, the Life Guards and the Blues and Royals (Royal Horse Guards and 1st Dragoons). These are the two senior regiments in the British Army, with traditions dating from the 17th century. The motto on this badge is 'Honi soit qui mal y pense', which means 'Shame on he who thinks evil of it'.
