Arisaka Type 99 7.7 mm bolt action magazine rifle used by the Japanese Army
This rifle, introduced in 1905, was a considerable improvement on the original 30th Year Model. As a result of experience in the Russian-Japanese War, the bolt was replaced by a Mauser-inspired design and a better safety catch fitted. The Arisaka was a strong and serviceable weapon, with quantities being purchased by Britain during World War One (1914-1918).
