Cap badge, The Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry, 1914 (c)

In 1914 this regiment had two Regular, one Reserve and two Territorial battalions on strength but following the outbreak of war in August that year it quickly expanded. Eventually the regiment raised 11 more Territorial and New Army battalions.
