Collar badge, other ranks, 14th (King's) Hussars, 1900-1904
Originally raised as a dragoon regiment in 1715, the 14th Hussars were nicknamed 'The Emperor's Chambermaids' after fighting at the Battle of Vittoria in 1813. During that engagement the regiment looted a silver chamber pot from the carriage used by Joseph Bonaparte, king of Spain and Napoleon's elder brother.
