Camp kettle used by an officer of the French Dragoons at Waterloo (1815)
The weather the night before the Battle of Waterloo (18 June 1815) was atrocious, with heavy rain making conditions in camp miserable. Soldiers would have struggled to keep warm and heat up their food and tea.
Brass with a flattened base and top, and an 'S' shaped spout; the lid is stepped with a knobbed finial; two bracket each side would originally have held the handle, now missing. Stands on a tripod.
