British .55 inch Boys Mk I anti-tank rifle, 1939 (c)

Although effective against light tanks early in World War Two (1939-1945), this was inadequate against heavier tanks and phased out in favour of the Projector Infantry Anti-Tank (PIAT) as the war progressed.
