Officer's coatee, 11th Light Dragoons, 1831-1840
Scarlet wool cloth with buff wool facings and gilt buttons. Missing most buttons and trimmings.
In 1830 King William IV ordered that light cavalry, including the 11th Light Dragoons, were to be clothed in scarlet, but within a few years most light cavalry regiments had reverted to dark blue uniforms. The short tails of the jacket can be seen at the rear.
