Pikeman's sword, 1640 (c)

Although a pikeman's main weapon was his five-metre long steel-tipped pike, he also carried a simple sword for personal protection. These weapons were manufactured in large quantities by both sides during the English Civil War. Cavalrymen also used similar swords. This example has a double-edged blade with a shallow fuller and leather-covered wooden grip.
