Cavalry Officer's sword, 1879 (c)

This sword was used by Major (later Major-General) Richard James Combe Marter of The 1st (or King's) Dragoon Guards. Marter was the officer responsible for capturing the Zulu king, Cetshwayo, during the Zulu War (1879).
