15th Bengal Lancers (Cureton's Multanis), 1895 (c)

The 15th (Cureton's Multani) Regiment of Bengal Lancers was raised in 1858 by Captain (Later General Sir) Charles Cureton during the Indian Mutiny (1857-1859). The regiment fought in the 2nd Afghan War (1878-1880) and served on the Western Front and in the Middle East during World War One (1914-1918). In 1922 the regiment was amalgamated with the 14th Murray's Jat Lancers, to form the 20th Lancers.
