Identity tag worn by Lieutenant Heerajee Jehangir Manockjee Cursetjee, 1913 (c)
During World War One (1914-1918) Cursetjee served in Egypt, Gallipoli and Mesopotamia, where he was Medical Officer of a Sikh regiment. He later rose to the rank of major-general. This tag gives his religion as 'Parsee'. The Indian Army was a multi-faith force and also included Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs.
