Captain (later Major-General) William Raymond, 22nd (or the Cheshire) Regiment of Foot, 1790 (c)

The 22nd Regiment of Foot saw action in the American War of Independence (1775-1783) when it returned home via Guernsey. From 1793, the regiment served in the West Indies where it took part in expeditions against Martinique, St Lucia, Guadeloupe and St Domingo.
