Indian Army cavalry NCOs, 1897

Cavalry non-commissioned officers (NCOs), including one mounted on a camel, and another with a carbine on a horse, pose for a photograph. After 1858 the non-commissioned Indian cavalry ranks were lance-dafadar, dafadar and kot dafadar.
