The capture of Cetawayo, King of the Zulus by Major Richard J C Marter, King's Dragoon Guards, 28 August 1879

Anonymous watercolour, 1881.

King Cetshwayo became a fugitive after the Battle of Ulundi (4 July 1879). He was taken prisoner in August. Deprived of his kingdom he was sent into exile at Cape Town.
