Miniature, watercolour on ivory, artist unknown.
The subject is shown in the uniform of a subaltern of the 80th Regiment of Foot (Staffordshire Volunteers), consisting of a red tunic with yellow facings, white crossbelt and gold epaulettes. Attached to the gilt decorated frame is a small handwritten label which reads: 'Peter Benjamin Mosse of Rutland House, Carlow, Ireland'.
