Burma Star 1941-45 awarded to Lieutenant-Colonel W F Brown, The Assam Regiment
The Burma Star was awarded for service in the Burma Campaign between 11 December 1941 and 2 September 1945. It could also be awarded for certain specified service in China, Hong Kong, Malaya and Sumatra. The medal consists of a six-pointed star with the Royal Cipher 'GRI VI' in the centre, surmounted by a crown above the inscription: 'The Burma Star'.
