Camouflaged tanks and infantry moving up to the attack, 26 September 1917

Photograph, World War One, Western Front (1914-1918), 1917.

British infantry move up the line during the Battle of Polygon Wood. They are passing camouflaged tanks at Clapham Junction. This position was close to the Menin Road and some three miles east of Ypres. Shell bursts are visible in the distance.
